The Hudson Valley Community College women's bowling team captured its 16th Mountain Valley Conference championship in the last 23 years with a first place finish at the Schenectady Invitational on Wednesday. Additionally, the men's team assured itself of its 13th conference championship in the last 17 years with a second place finish at the event.
Freshman Michelle Villeneuve (Berne/Berne-Knox-Westerlo High School) rolled a 686 triple to take first place in the women's competition. Freshman Tia-Marie Stevens (Averill Park/Averill Park High School) added a 630 triple.
Freshman Matt Lieberman (Averill Park/Averill Park High School) paced Hudson Valley's men with a 741 triple, which included a high-game 259. Freshman John Ferraro (Kingston/Kingston High School) contributed a 708 triple.
