The Hudson Valley Community College men's and women's bowling teams each took top honors in the Schenectady County Community College Invitational on Sunday.
Hudson Valley's women, ranked No. 2 in the latest NJCAA poll, finished first out of five teams in the event, which included top-ranked Erie Community College and third-ranked Mohawk Valley Community College.
Freshmen Kristen Koenig (Wynantskill/Catholic Central High School) and Madison Spickler (Watervliet/Watervliet High School) teamed up to win the doubles title with a score of 1,698. Spickler finished third in the all-events score with a 1,706.
Hudson Valley's men, ranked third in the NJCAA poll, finished first out of 11 teams in the event, which included second-ranked Erie and fifth-ranked Mohawk Valley.
Freshmen Steve Caverly (West Sand Lake/Averill Park High School) and Ray Carhart (Ravena/Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk High School) took second and third, respectively, in the singles event.
