The nationally-ranked Hudson Valley Community College men's and women bowling teams each captured the Adirondack Invitational on Tuesday.
Hudson Valley's men's team, which is ranked No. 3 in the latest NJCAA poll, finished first out of five schools with 3,573 pins. Freshman Nick Harris (Latham/Shaker High School) won the tournament with a 739 triple. Freshman Steve Caverly (Averill Park/Averill Park High School) finished second with a 731 triple and freshman Ray Carhart (Ravena/Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk High School) was third with a 730 triple.
The Lady Vikings, who are ranked No. 2 in the latest NJCAA poll, got an event-best 635 triple from freshman Madison Spickler (Watervliet/Watervliet High School) to finish first out of three competing teams. Freshman Tia-Marie Stevens (Averill Park/Averill Park High School) was second with a 630 triple.
Hudson Valley, which also captured the Dutchess Invitational last Saturday, will travel to Mohawk Valley on Friday, February 17.
