The Hudson Valley Community College women's basketball program dropped a tough home match 65-55 Herkimer College at the McDonough Sports Complex on Friday evening in Troy, NY.

Despite a huge statistical night from Nya Ewans-Edmonds, who finished the game with game-highs with 24 points and 17 rebounds, the Vikings fell short of extending their win streak to five games after tonight's loss. Ewans-Edmonds shot 10-of-25 from the floor (4-of-10 FT), grabbed 15 defensive rebounds (2 Offensive) and added three assists, three steals and two blocks as the Vikings player of the game.

Junasia Lanier nearly played the entire game with 39 minutes of action and she finished with 17 points on 6-of-14 shooting and added seven rebounds and three assists. The duo of Ewans-Edmonds and Lanier combined to score 41 of the team's 55 points.

Entering the second half of the game leading Herkimer 30-28, Hudson Valley was outscored 20-10 in the third, which proved to be too much to overcome in the final quarter.

The women return to the court on Thursday, February 3 when they host Fulton-Montgomery at 5 p.m. in the McDonough Sports Complex on the campus of Hudson Valley Community College.
