The Hudson Valley Community College women's basketball program utilized a fourth quarter rally to overcome an 11-point deficit to defeat Cayuga Community College 64-56 at the McDonough Sports Complex on Saturday afternoon in Troy, NY.

The Vikings jumped out to a cold start as the Cayuga Spartans held on to an early lead over Hudson Valley and continued to extend its lead over the Vikings through the third quarter. As the game headed into the final frame, Cayuga held a 49-38 advantage.

In the fourth, the Hudson Valley woke up and started to play inspired defense, which led to several fast break opportunities. The Vikings shot 52 percent from the floor in the second half, which included 3-of-5 from behind the arc. The increased defensive pressure and efficient offense resulted in a 26-7 fourth quarter run, which ultimately gave the Vikings their fifth win of the season and fourth win in the last five games.

Kat Stackrow finished with a game-high 24 points on 12-of-25 shooting. She also tallied 10 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season. Stackrow added four steals and a team-best six assists with Nya Ewans-Edmonds, who also posted six assists.

Nya Ewans-Edmonds joined Stackrow as she also recorded a double-double, posting 14 points and 14 rebounds to go with her six assists.

Hailey Cascioli and Kiersten Chaplin finished in double-figures as Cascioli finished with 10 points and seven rebounds, while Chaplin tallied 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting, including 2-of-2 from behind the three-point arc.
