The Hudson Valley Community College women's basketball saw its three-game win streak come to an end on Wednesday evening as the visiting Onondaga Lazers defeated the Vikings 75-40 in the McDonough Sports Complex.

Kathryn Stackrow finished the game with a team-high 19 points. She tallied seven field goal attempts as she just missed the 20-point threshold for the fourth time in the last five games.

Hudson Valley fought hard and kept the game close throughout the majority of the opening quarter, until the Lazers went on a 10-1 run to end the quarter and extended its lead to 22-13.

In the second quarter, the Vikings struggled offensively as the No. 8 ranked Lazers displayed an efficient offense, outscoring the Vikings 20-4 and taking a 42-17 advantage into the break.

In the second half, Onondaga continued to shoot the ball at a high rate and pulled away from Hudson Valley for the 75-40 win.

The women's basketball team continues its season-high four-game home stand this Saturday, Dec. 4, when the Vikings welcome Cayuga to the McDonough Sports Complex at Hudson Valley Community College. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
