Women's Basketball Snaps Losing Streak with Win over Orange

The Hudson Valley women's basketball team snapped their losing streak with a 74-71 road win at Orange on Saturday afternoon in Middletown, NY. 

The Vikings had four individuals surpass double-digit scoring and were led by freshman Emily Erickson. Erickson finished the game with a game-high 21 points on seven field goals, including two from behind the arc. 

Grace VanRoy and Anna VanRoy also reached double-digit scoring to help the Vikings get back on their winning ways. Grace scored eight of her 14 points in the second half and Anna recorded nine of her 12 points in the first half, including six points in the opening quarter. 

Alexandra Rifenburg finished with 10 points and has now reached double-digit scoring for the ninth time this season. 

The women's basketball team is back in action tomorrow, Sunday, Dec. 8 when they travel south to take on Ulster at 1 p.m.
