Kim Wintergerst Named Player of the Year, Jeff Beyer Earns Coach of the Year Honors

The Mountain Valley Conference coaches have recognized two Hudson Valley Community College softball players and head coach Jeff Beyer for their performance during the 2005 season.
Freshman pitcher Kim Wintergerst (Burnt Hills/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School) was named the Mountain Valley Conference Player of the Year. She led all NJCAA Division III pitchers with a 0.44 ERA this season. She finished the year with an 8-3 record, striking out 55 batters in 63.1 innings of work.
Sophomore outfielder Annemarie Nelson (Nassau/Columbia High School) was named to the All-Conference team for the second consecutive season. She's hitting .434 with four triples and 22 RBI.
Beyer was named the conference's Coach of the year for the fourth consecutive year. He's guided the Lady Vikings to a 19-7 record this season, and sports an 84-34-1 all-time mark in four years of coaching.
