The Hudson Valley Community College men's soccer team earned a convincing 5-2 win over SUNY Adirondack at the Outdoor Athletic Complex on the campus of HVCC on Wednesday afternoon.

The Vikings didn't waste any time as they scored the first goal of the game at the 3:30 mark when Dillon Halvax wrapped a corner kick around the inside post for the score. The Vikings Josiah Howard put the Vikings up 3-0 as he scored the next two goals for Hudson Valley. His first goal came at 16:56 on a direct kick, which Howard ended up with a pass from Brennan Halbohm for the goal. Nearly 10 minutes later, Howard scored again from nearly 30-yards out as he sent a well-placed deep shot right over the keeper's head and in the back of the net at the 27:58 mark.

In the second half, Tuyishime Gafasha converted a penalty kick following a foul inside the box at 59:14 to put Hudson Valley ahead of the Timberwolves 4-0.

Adirondack's Kristel scored both goals for the Timberwolves, but the Vikings put the game away for good when Halbohm scored on an assist from Jeremy Smith at the 73:31 mark for Hudson Valley's fifth goal of the game.

Up next for the men's soccer program is a road match at Fulton-Montgomery at 3 p.m. in Johnstown, NY.
