The Hudson Valley Community College men's soccer program dropped a tough 3-2 match on the road against Jefferson Community College on Saturday afternoon in Watertown, NY.

The Vikings went up on the Cannoneers early in the second half as Ivan Gomez put the Vikings up 2-1 with a thru-ball assist from Kevin Kampula at the 50-minute mark in the game. Kampula also scored the Vikings first goal of the game, which tied everything up at the 40-minute mark as the game went into the halftime break.

With nearly 10 minutes remaining in the game the Cannoneers were awarded a penalty kick and converted to tie the game up at 2-2. Less than 5 minutes later, Jefferson scored again to give the Vikings a heartbreaking defeat and the Cannoneers were now leading 3-2 with about six minutes remaining in the game.

The men's soccer team concluded its regular season and will now wait the decision of the Region 3 soccer committee on its postseason fate, as they are in line for a 10 or 11 seed, if the committee chooses to seed past eight programs.
