Men's Soccer Falls at Home to Jamestown

The Hudson Valley Community College men's soccer team dropped their second consecutive match to start the 2021 season their 5-1 loss against Jamestown on Sunday afternoon at the Outdoor Athletic Complex on the campus of Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY.

The Vikings took advantage of some timid play by the Jayhawks early as Michael Palermo sent a ball through the keeper's arms for the first goal of the game at the 44:20 mark, less than a minute into the game.

Hudson Valley and Jamestown continued to spar throughout the first half as the Vikings entered the break with the 1-0 advantage. The second half was a different story as the Jayhawks found their rhythm and scored three goals over the course of four minutes and they never looked back. Ethan Richardson scored two of the Jayhawks three goals during this span.

Later in the match, Tholo Malebo connected for two goals and increased Jamestown's lead to 5-1 as the Jayhawks earned their first win of the season.

The men's program closed out its opening weekend with a 0-2 record. On Saturday afternoon, the Vikings were defeated by Fulton-Montgomery 4-0 in Johnstown, NY. They are scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 15 when they host Mohawk Valley around 3:00 p.m.
