Men's Soccer Wins, Defeats Clinton 6-0

The Hudson Valley Community College men's soccer team improved to 7-4 after defeating Clinton 6-0 on the road Sunday afternoon.

The Vikings offense was busy this afternoon as they recorded 15 shots on goal off of 30 total shots. The Vikings scored four times in the opening half and added another two goals in the second to secure their fifth shutout victory on the season.

Ethan Thomas (Ballston Spa/Ballston Spa) and Ryan Euell (Rhinebeck/Rhinebeck) led the Vikings offense this afternoon as they combined for nine points on four goals (two each) and one assist (Euell). Garrett Axtmann (Castleton/Maple Hill) added five points with his three assists and one goal to help the Vikings achieve its highest scoring game of the year.

Asan Anarkulov (Scottsdale, Ariz./Coronado) provided one of the Vikings six goals and Ethan Samarija (Castleton/Maple Hill) and Nicholas Savallo (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) contributed as they each recorded an assist in the win.

Men's soccer will be home for their next two games on Sunday, Oct. 8 to face North Country at 1 p.m. and again on Wednesday, Oct. 11 when they welcome Broome at 4 p.m.
