The Hudson Valley Community College men's golf program earned All-Conference accolades for their successful 2023 season, as announced by the Mountain Valley Conference (MVC) on Monday morning.
Hudson Valley's top-ranked golfer, Lane Jenkins was named the MVC Player of the Year following his win at the Herkimer Conference Tournament on Saturday, May 6th. At the Herkimer tournament, the men's team earned its best finish of the season as they posted a team score of 309 and placed second overall, just one stroke behind Niagara. Individually, Lane Jenkins found his swing as he was named the tournament medalist with the lowest 18-hole score as he shot a career-best round with a 69.
Sam Fair and Markham Daly were also recognized on the All-Conference First Team as they placed finished within the top-7 of the final standings on the conference event. Fair and Daly both recorded a 79 during the 18-hole tournament and Devin Gilbert rounded out the team's top-four scoring as he posted an 82 in the round. Gilbert was named to the All-Conference Second Team.
Hudson Valley's first-year head Coach Dennis McCormick was named the Mountain Valley Conference Coach of the Year following the program's first Conference Championship since 1985.
