Bowling Season Concludes at National Championships

The Hudson Valley Community College bowling team competed at the NJCAA National Championships hosted by the Royal Scot Golf and Bowl in Lansing, MI. 

The Vikings finished 18th out of the 22-team field with a final score of 8,262. They scored 4,040 in the double and singles portion of the match and added 2,107 and 2,115 in the two five-man games, respectively. 

Individually, Willis Bickford led the Vikings as he averaged 196.58 over the course of 12 games, which qualified him for a top-20 finish. Parker Brown placed 45th with an average score of 177.58 in 12 games bowled. Erin McCart finished off her National Championship weekend in 70th place and posted an average score of 158.17. Isabella Guyer placed 74th and had an average score of 156.17. 

Rock Valley (IL) takes home the 2022 NJCAA Men's Bowling Championship at Royal Scot Golf and Bowl. This title is the school's second in school history and in the last three years. The Golden Eagles started the tournament strong and never lost their lead throughout. On the first day of play, Rock Valley held a 166-pin lead and never surrendered it entering Saturday.

Iowa Central claimed its third consecutive runner-up finish, marking the program's fourth straight top-three finish. Erie (NY) walked away with third place, which is their highest placement since 2017. Iowa Western and defending champion Hawkeye round out the top-5.
