Men’s Bowling Places Second in Westchester Shootout

The Hudson Valley Community College men's bowling team participated in and placed second at the Westchester Shootout, hosted by Westchester County Community College on Saturday afternoon in Fishkill, NY.

As a team, the Vikings tallied 7,570 total pins in the 13-team tournament. Hudson Valley scored 2,843 pins in their doubles series games, added 2,823 pins during their single series matches and scored 1,904 pins in 10 baker games.

Garrett Bartlett (Brunswick/Tamarac), Joshua McCart (Hoosick Falls/Hoosick Falls), Nathan Laustrup (Troy/Lansingburgh) and Donald Baker (Ravena/Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk) all finished inside the top-25 of the singles round. Bartlett placed 12th with a game-high of 214 and a series-high of 593. McCart had a game-high of 204 and a series-high of 573. Laustrup placed 24th with a game-high of 215 and a series-high of 544. Baker finished 25th with a game-high of 192 and a series-high of 541.

The duo of Bartlett and Baker finished fifth overall in the doubles portion of the match and finished with a final doubles score of 1,133. McCart and Spencer McClellan (Troy/Lansingburgh) placed seventh with a doubles score of 1,080. McCart finished eighth in the overall all-events standings with 1,148 total pins and Baker placed 10th overall with 1,137 total pins.

The men's bowling team is back in action next weekend, Feb. 3 as they participate in the Boulevard Classic, hosted by Schenectady County Community College.
