The Hudson Valley Community College women's bowling team clinched its third Mountain Valley Conference championship in the last four years by winning the Schenectady Invitational Wednesday at Boulevard Bowl.
Freshman Armine-Theresa Martin (Bennington, VT/Mount Anthony Union High School) rolled a 603 triple to lead Hudson Valley. Sophomore Tiffany Burnett (Albany/Albany High School) bowled a high-game 227 and a 599 triple.
The men's team won its first conference title since 2000 by finishing first out of five teams. Four Hudson Valley bowlers recorded triples above 700. Sophomore Joe Malone (Colonie/Colonie High School) led Hudson Valley with a 752 triple. Sophomore John Costello (Troy/Catholic Central High School) rolled a 724, and freshmen Kyle Haines (Guilderland/Guilderland High School) and Jeremy Bond (Schenectady/Schenectady High School) bowled a 706 and 703 triple, respectively.
Hudson Valley will compete in the Region III Tournament on Sunday, February 27 in Utica.
