The Hudson Valley Community College men's and women's bowling teams swept the Columbia-Greene Invitational played at Hoe Bowl in Catshill.
The Hudson Valley men rolled a 3,266 to finish first out of five teams. Sophomore John Costello (Troy/Catholic Central High School) rolled a 699 series, including a high-game 269, to lead the Vikings. Sophomore Don Govel (Guilderland/Guilderland High School) finished with a 676 series, and freshman Jeremy Bond (Schenectady/Schenectady High School) added a 644 series.
The women's team bowled a 2,910 to finish first out of three competing colleges. Sophomore Brenda Tilley (Melrose/Hoosic Valley High School) led the way with a 639 series, including a high-game 244. Sophomore Holly Churchill (Schenectady/Schenectady High School) contributed a 578 series.
Hudson Valley will host its own invitational at 3 p.m. on Thursday, November 3 at Hilltop Bowl in Spiegletown.
