The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team completed the season sweep over Mohawk Valley after defeating the Hawks 85-75 on Saturday afternoon in Utica, NY.

The Vikings trailed at the halftime break 42-38 and finished with a strong second half, holding the Hawks to just 33 points as their offense exploded for 47 second half points to secure the key Region 3 win.

As a team, the Vikings shot 38 percent from the floor and 47 percent from behind the three point arc, which proved to be the difference maker as the Hawks shot 5-of-21 from the three-point arc for 23 percent.

The Vikings were led by Tevor Green and Luke Bourgault, who both topped 20 points in the game and combined to shoot 15-of-31 from the field, including 7-of-14 from behind the arc. Bourgault finished with a plus-minus of +21 as he played in 39 minutes. Green's plus-minus was +17 in 34 minutes of action.

Jourdan Belcher shot 6-of-13 from the floor and finished with 16 points and eight rebounds and the Vikings earned back-to-back wins over the Hawks for the first time since the 2008-09 season.

The win gives Hudson Valley a 10-5 record in the NJCAA Region 3 standings, where they currently site in fifth place, percentage points behind Corning for a top-4 finish. They are set to close out the regular season home schedule on Monday, February 14, when they welcome North Country to the McDonough Sports Complex at 7 p.m.
