Men's Basketball Earns Road Win at Springfield Tech

The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball program closed out its three-game road trip with a 90-75 win over a tough Springfield Tech program in Springfield, Mass on Tuesday evening. 

The Vikings offensive exploded for a season-high 90 points and were led by Trevor Green, who finished the game with a team-high 30 points on 13 made field goals, including a pair of three-point field goals. 

Aristide Gatereste also had a big game on the offensive end for Hudson Valley. He finished the game with 20 points, with including 10-of-15 from the free throw line. Gatereste, Hudson Valley's leading scorer entering tonight's game, surpassed the 20-point threshold for the second straight game. 

Jourdan Belcher and Luke Bourgault also posted double-digit scoring with Belcher kicking the game off with a strong first half, scoring 10 of his 17 points in the first 20 minutes of the game. Bourgault finished with 11 points, on four field goals, including on from behind the three-point arc.  

Tonight's game kicked off a busy week for the Vikings basketball programs as they play five games in the next nine days. The men's team is off to a great start as they now head back to Troy, NY for a four-game home stand, beginning tomorrow night, December 1, when they welcome Onondaga to the McDonough Sports Complex. The key Region 3 matchup is scheduled to tip at 7 p.m.
