The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball dropped a tough road match as its fourth quarter rally fell short in its 84-79 defeat at Corning on Sunday afternoon. 

The Vikings trailed 40-36 at the halftime break and they worked their way into a late game rally, which fell just short as Corning held on for the win. 

Aristide Gateretse led the Vikings with 21 points, while Trevor Green finished with 12 points and Eriks Veidemanis posted 13 point. Jourdan Belcher and Chris Peary both scored 10 points 

The Vikings are off through the Thanksgiving break and will return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 30 when they travel to take on Springfield Tech. The game is scheduled for a 5 p.m. start in Springfield, Mass.
