The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team had to rally from a 16-point deficit to defeat Finger Lakes on the road on Saturday afternoon in Canandaigua, NY.

The Vikings trailed the Lakers 34-21 and shot 31 percent from the floor, including 0-for-9 from behind the three-point arc in the first 20 minutes of the game. The second half was a different story as they Vikings shot 8-of-11 from behind the three-point line as Aristide Gateretse and Luke Bourgault exploded to score all of their 31 points, leading the Vikings come-from-behind efforts against a quality Lakers program.

Gateretse and Bourgault were just two of five Vikings to score in double-figures on the day. Trevor Green has continued to play well as he shot 6-of-14 from the floor for 15 points and added a pair of rebounds, an assist and a steal. Dakhari Scheuerman finished 5-of-6 from the floor for 10 points and Eriks Veidemanis came off the bench and scored 10 points on 4-of-10 from the floor, including 2-of-6 from behind the arc.

Ben Waterman led the Lakers with a game-high 29 points and 12 rebounds. Devon Payton came off the bench for Finger Lakes and scored 18 points with a pair of rebounds, steals and assists.

The Vikings have a quick turnaround as they continue on their season-high four game road trip tomorrow as they take on Corning at 2 p.m. in Corning, NY.
