The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team earned its second win of the season as they defeated Adirondack 87-62 on Wednesday evening in the McDonough Sports Complex.

The Vikings exploded for an early 20-point advantage over the Timberwolves and they continued to keep the defensive pressure throughout the entire first half with Hudson Valley entering the break leading 52-21. Trevor Green led all scorers with 17 first half points for the Vikings. Green finished with a team-high 21 points.

The second half was a high-scoring affair between the two programs as they combined to score 76 points with Adirondack outscoring the Vikings 41-35, but couldn't overcome the big deficit set in the opening minutes of the game.

Luke Bourgault hit four three-point field goals, all in the first half as he was a catalyst, along with Green, in the quick start for the Vikings. Devon Flynn also had a big night for the Vikings, which included nine of his 11 points coming in the second half of the game. Flynn continued to make quality defensive contributions all evening, including a couple blocks and key rebounds, which brought an end to several Timberwolves sets.

The Vikings are back in action to start a four-game road tilt beginning this Saturday, Nov. 13 as they travel south to take on Rockland County at 1 p.m. in Suffern, NY.
