Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball earned the No. 4 seed in the upcoming NJCAA Region III postseason tournament after defeating Fulton-Montgomery 92-68 on Wednesday evening in the McDonough Sports Complex on the campus of Hudson Valley Community College.

The No. 4 seed marks the best regular season finish for the Vikings under the seven-year tenue of Coach Mike Long. Long recently surpassed 500 career wins earlier this season following a win 103-93 overtime win against Rockland in November.

The Vikings were led offensively by Luke Bourgault, who finished with a team-best 15 points. Bourgault earned a majority of his points in the opening half as he connected for nine points before halftime.

Brandon McKenly, Avery Deas and Zach Hilton also had a strong first half as the trio combined to score 27 of the Vikings 45 first half points. Deas, who was one of three sophomores honored on Wednesday night prior to the start of the game, finished with 12 points. McKenly and Hilton both finished with 14 points.

Sophomore honoree, Ryan Long also hit double-digits in the win as he hit two, three-point field goals on his way to 10 points. The final sophomore honored was Dominique Threatt and he finished with six points in the win.

The men's program will now wait to find out who their opponent will be on Tuesday, Feb, 25 as they will host the winner of No. 5 Corning and No. 12 Broome. Game time has not been confirmed as this time.
