Hudson Valley's men's basketball team (8-1) lost its first game of the 2018 season as Finger Lakes defeated the Vikings 75-63 on Saturday afternoon in Canandaigua, NY.
The Lakers held the Vikings high-octane offense to a season low 63 points and Hudson Valley shot 35 percent from the floor and 23 percent from behind the arc. The Vikings leading scorers were held to a combined 30 points, which is approximately 30 points below their season average.
O'nandi Brooks (Brooklyn/George Westinghouse) led the Vikings with 16 points and added 10 rebounds (seven offensive boards) in 34 minutes of play. Josiah McCall (Beacon/Beacon) and Brandon Holmes (Troy/Troy) combined for 26 points off the bench for Hudson Valley.
McCall finished with 15 points on 7-for-17 from the floor and added eight rebounds. Holmes collected 11 points on 4-for-7 shooting, including a pair of three-point field goals.
Finger Lakes' Devin Green led all scorers as he finished with a game-high 21 points, which including for three-point baskets and a perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line.
Hudson Valley is back in action tomorrow as they travel to play Corning on Sunday for a 2 p.m. start.
