The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team (4-4) defeated SUNY Ulster (3-5) 99-93 in overtime on Tuesday Evening.
At the end of the first half the Vikings were down to Ulster 42-45. The score remained close in the second half with neither team taking a commanding lead.
Heading into overtime with the score tied 89-89, the Vikings took an early lead and maintained ball control to close out the game. In total, the Vikings forced 22 turnovers and only turned the ball over seven times.
Hudson Valley's John Palmer (Columbia/East Greenbush) led the Vikings with 19 points, and both Caleb Canty (Hudson/Hudson) and Brandon Palmer (Columbia/East Greenbush) each added 18 in the win.
The men travel to Dutchess on Thursday, December 1 for a game at 7 p.m.
