The Hudson Valley Community College (13-10) men's basketball team raced out to a 50-30 lead over the first 19 minutes and cruised to an 88-73 win over Tompkins Cortland Community College (7-15) earlier today in Dryden.
Hudson Valley has won three straight games and five of its last six contests, and will travel to Mohawk Valley Community College on Saturday, February 12.
Sophomore guard Aric Kucel (Gloversville/Gloversville High School) led five Hudson Valley players in double-figures scoring with 25 points. Sophomore forward Maurice Frye (Middletown/Middletown High School) had 15 points and six rebounds, and freshman forward Ryan Livingston (Bethlehem/LaSalle Institute) finished with 15 points and five steals. Freshman forwards Mike Collopy (Averill Park/Averill Park High School) and Khylan Hunt (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga Springs High School) contributed 14 and 10 points, respectively.
The Panthers were led by Armel Traore dit Nignan's (Burkina Faso) 25 points.
