Baseball's Wenstrom Named First Team All-American

NJCAA All-American List
Hudson Valley Community College baseball student-athlete Jackson Wenstrom (Mandan, North Dakota/Mandan) has been named to the NJCAA All-American First Team as announced today by the NJCAA Division III Baseball Committee.
The Mandan, North Dakota native, Wenstrom becomes the fifth Hudson Valley baseball player to earn All-American honors in the last 10 years and the first student-athlete to earn first team honors since Rich Guillod following the 2008 season.
The All-American honors are the latest accolades for Wenstrom as he has previously been named the Mountain Valley Conference and NJCAA Region 3 Player of the Year. Jackson also earned the NJCAA Region 3 Defensive Player of the Year award and was named a Gold Glove recipient for his work in centerfield this season.
Wenstrom finished the season with a .462 batting average, .542 on-base percentage, 14 home runs, 47 RBIs, 61 hits and 15 doubles. He ranked inside the top-10 nationally in batting average, on-base percentage, home runs and RBIs. Jackson also led the country with a .909 slugging percentage.
The Vikings baseball program reached the NJCAA Regional tournament for the second straight season in 2018. The team advanced to the semi-final round before falling to Niagara County Community College in the double-elimination tournament.
