The Hudson Valley Community College baseball team (19-13) defeated SUNY Adirondack (6-23) on Monday afternoon. The Vikings won game one, 6-3, and defeated the Timberwolves in game two, 5-0.
Anthony Scaccia (Voorheesville/Voorheesville) led the Vikings with three hits and three RBIs, and Mike Sunkes (Catholic Central/Waterford) added two more RBIs in the win. Franklin Miller (Ballston Spa/Ballston Spa) went the distance striking out seven, including striking out the side to end the game.
Charles Parslow (Fonda-Fultonville/Fonda) pitched seven strong innings to earn the win on the mound in game two, striking out 10 batters and allowing no earned runs. Mike Sunkes (Catholic Central/Waterford) led the Vikings offensively with three hits, and Matt Sand (CBA/Altamont) added a solo homerun.
The baseball team travels to Herkimer tomorrow for a doubleheader at two.
