The Hudson Valley Community College baseball team (16-12) defeated Columbia-Greene Community College (6-12) on Tuesday afternoon. The Vikings won game one, 6-2, and shut the Twins out in game two, 10-0.
Franklin Miller (Ballston Spa/Ballston Spa) struck out 10, allowing only one earned run to capture the game one victory. Eric Mueller (Bethlehem/Glenmont) led the Vikings with two hits and two RBIs, and Anthony Scaccia (Voorheesville/Voorheesville) recorded one hit and one RBI.
Charles Parslow (Fonda-Fultonville/Fonda) pitched a complete game shutout, scattering only four hits and striking out eight. Scaccia led the offensive attack with two hits and three RBIs. Mueller and Brett Fenton (Catholic Central/Troy) each added two hits and one RBI in the rout.
The baseball team travels to Columbia-Greene on Thursday for a doubleheader at 2 p.m.
