The Hudson Valley Community College baseball team (24-11, 19-5) defeated Fulton-Montgomery Community College in both games of a doubleheader, 8-3 and 13-3, on Tuesday, April 20. The Vikings remain in first place in the Region III, East Division.
The Vikings went down early in the third inning of the first game on a fielding error, 3-0, but responded quickly in the bottom half of the inning with a three-run homerun by Luke Burns (Delaware Academy, Bovina) that put the Vikes up 4-3. The Viking pitching and defense shut down the Raiders for the remainder of the game and pulled off the 8-3 win. Chris Massaroni (Voorheesville, Voorheesville) had three RBIs and Tyler Young (Shaker, Latham) went two-for-three with two RBIs.
Game two was all Hudson Valley as they defeated Fulton-Montgomery 13-3. Bobby McLoughlin (Bishop Gibbons, Schenectady) went two-for-three with four RBIs. Mike McCrone (Whitney Point, Binghamton) went two-for-three and Young was two-for-three with two RBIs.
