Matt Nobles, Ryan Owen, Mike Harrington Garner All-Region Accolades
Daniel Barbero (Bronx/Lehman High School), a sophomore middle infielder on the Hudson Valley Community College baseball team, was named the NJCAA Region III Division III Player of the Year as voted by the region's coaches.
Sophomores Matt Nobles (Rensselaer/Bishop Maginn High School) and Mike Harrington (Troy/Troy High School), and freshman Ryan Gijon-Owen (Puebla, Mexico/Bowie, TX High School) earned Second Team All-Region Honors.
Barbero, a Third Team NJCAA All-American last season at Fulton- Montgomery Community College, has put together one of the most remarkable seasons in Hudson Valley history. He currently holds Hudson Valley single- season records in hits (68), home runs (9), triples (11) and runs batted in (48).
Barbero is currently hitting .493 on the season. His on base percentage is .566 and his slugging percentage is .908. Barbero also leads the team with 12 stolen bases and 54 runs scored.
Gijon-Owen is hitting .454 with a school-record 14 doubles. He has three home runs, 27 RBI and is second on the club with 44 runs.
Harrington, who transferred to Hudson Valley from Mississippi Valley State University, is batting .422 with two home runs and 29 RBI.
Nobles is second on the club with seven home runs and 38 RBI. He is hitting .344.
