The Tri-City ValleyCats and Hudson Valley Community College will host a baseball clinic for coaches and kids on Saturday, February 22 and Sunday, February 23, on the campus of Hudson Valley.
On Saturday, February 22, ValleyCats' manager Ivan DeJesus and pitching coach Bill Ballou, along with Hudson Valley head baseball coach Tom Reinisch, will be offering tips and insights for coaches of all levels from 10 a.m. to noon in the Bulmer Telecommunications Center. The cost of the coaches' clinic is only $15.
The kids' clinic will be held on Sunday, February 23 in the McDonough Sports Complex from 10 a.m. to noon. The Hudson Valley baseball team will offer hitting and fielding instruction to children ages 8-14. DeJesus and Ballou also will stop by to say hello and scout out future talent. Admission to the kids' clinic is only $35.
"We're excited about this event," said ValleyCats general manager Rick Murphy. "Having Ivan (DeJesus) and Bill (Ballou) here is a great opportunity for kids and coaches alike to pick up some new tips and get a jump on the season."
"The clinic is a great opportunity for area coaches and kids to learn from some of the best baseball minds in the Capital Region," said Hudson Valley athletics director Drew Marrochello.
Completed registration forms must be received by the ValleyCats' office by Friday, February 14. Enrollment is limited. For more information on either of the clinics or to pick up a registration form, log on to www.hvcc.edu/baseballclinic or call the ValleyCats' front office at 629-2287.
