Hudson Valley Community College's baseball team (12-6) and softball team (5-3) are both ranked third in the appropriate National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III Region III coaches polls, which are featured in the weekly Region III athletic report, released today. The report includes statistics from more than 30 colleges from across the Northeast.

Sophomore outfielder Nick Esopi (Stillwater) is tied for first among Region III hitters with two home runs. He leads everyone with 17 RBI. Bobby Krogh (Troy), a freshman left-hander, is tied for first among Region III hurlers with a 1.80 ERA. He also has 26 strikeouts in 20 innings pitched, second-best in Region III, and is 2-1 with a pair of saves. Second-year right-hander Nick Borgia (Scotia-Glenville) currently sports the best ERA among Region III pitchers (1.38). He has recorded 21 strikeouts in 18 innings pitched. Borgia (2-1), who tossed an eight-strikeout no-hitter against Onondaga Community College on April 16 (Hudson Valley won the seven-inning contest, 5-0), posted a 3-1 record as a freshman at Hudson Valley.
