Three Hudson Valley Community College student-athletes were named NJCAA Region 3 student-athletes of the week, as announced by the NJCAA Region 3.

Colin Lynch (baseball), Katie Mannis (softball) and Lane Jenkins (golf) were all recognized with NJCAA Region 3 honors following their on-field success last week.

Colin Lynch
Colin had a monster week at the plate as he hit .625 on the week with 10 hits and 7 extra base hits, including 5 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run. He scored six runs and collected 11 RBIs.

The baseball program secured the No. 2 seed in the NJCAA Region 3 playoffs and will host No. 3 Genesee in a best-of-three series on Saturday, May 13 beginning at 10 AM.

Kate Mannis
Mannis has had a big week for the Vikings last week as they finished with a 6-1 record. Katie hit .478 (11 for 23) with 4 doubles, 2 triples and 4 home runs (1.348 slugging percentage).  She scored 10 runs and collected 12 RBIs.

Softball is awaiting their NJCAA Region 3 postseason seeding, which is expected to be a No. 4 seed and host No. 5 Jefferson this weekend in a best-of-three series beginning at 12 p.m. in May 13.

Lane Jenkins
Lane had a tremendous weekend, highlighted by winning the Herkimer Golf Invitational, shooting a 69 on the 18-hole course.  He also finished in the top 10 at the Jefferson Invitational with a 75 leading the HVCC men's program to second place team finishes in both events.

Lane and the men's golf team is competing in the NJCAA Region 3 Championships next week, beginning on Monday, May 15 at the Glen Oak Golf Course in East Amherst, NY.
