Volleyball Drops Home Match to Adirondack

The Hudson Valley women's volleyball team went up against a top volleyball program in SUNY Adirondack and lost in straight sets 3-0 on Wednesday evening in the McDonough Sports Complex on the campus of Hudson Valley Community College.  

The Vikings combined for 15 kills, seven assists and 36 digs over the course of the three-set match. Hudson Valley's scoring was headlined by Katrina Vrooman's five kills and Jacqueline McCormick's four kills. Vrooman hit the ball well and finished with a team-high .300 hitting percentage. 

Leureah Cummings earned all of the Vikings assists as she set up her teammates on seven of the team's 15 kills. Laura Grippin recorded a team-best 10 digs and was joined by Madison DeMarco, who finished with eight digs, while Cummings added six. 

The volleyball team back home on Monday, Oct. 14 for their Dig Pink Night and their Sophomore Night. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game as the Vikings collect donations for the Side-Out Foundation. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
