Women's Tennis Season Concludes at Regionals

Hudson Valley Community College women's tennis season ended on Saturday afternoon as the Vikings were defeated in the opening day of the NJCAA Region 3 Championships at Drumlins Tennis Center in Syracuse, NY. 

The Vikings top seed Miranda Morrison faced off against No. 2 ranked Katie Lesselroth from Onondaga and was defeated in straight sets 6-0, 6-1. Morrison and Ally Hammond teamed up as the Vikings top doubles team and faced off against Onondaga's top doubles duo Maddie Murphy and Hannah Costello. Onondaga defeated the Vikings 6-4, 6-2. 

Hammond was paired against the top-seeded Colleen Samsel from Broome at the No. 2 Singles flight. Samsel defeated Hammond 6-0, 6-2. 

Christina Cammarata faced off as the Vikings No. 3 Singles against Onondaga's Costello and was defeated in straight sets 6-1, 6-3. Cammarata and Ngoc Nguyen teamed up and were defeated by Broome's Mott and Kane in the opening round at No. 2 Doubles. Nguyen dropped her No. 4 Singles flight match 6-1, 6-0 against Onondaga's Talitha Freeman.
