Women's Tennis Falls on Road at Onondaga

Women's tennis lost to Onondaga 9-0 on 9/28/19

Hudson Valley Community College women's tennis (0-1) matched up against Onondaga Saturday afternoon at Drumlins Tennis Center in Syracuse, NY. The Vikings dropped the match 9-0 to a tough NJCAA Region 3 Onondaga Lazers program.

The Vikings top-seed Miranda Morrison played well and nearly forced a third set, but fell in the tirebreaker 9-7 against Onondaga's top-seed Katie Lessroth. Lessroth won the match 6-0, 7-6 (9-7).

Hudson Valley's No. 2 singles seed Ally Hammond played Onondaga's Maddie Murphy tough but ultimately dropped the match in straight sets 6-1, 6-1.  

Rounding out the Vikings singles matches, Christina Cammarata dropped her match 6-4, 6-1. Ngoc Nguyen lost 6-0, 6-2 and Leslie Mead was defeated at No. 5 singles 6-0, 6-0.  

In doubles action, the Lazers swept both matches to secure the match win.

The women's tennis program returns to the courts on Monday, Oct. 7 when they host Herkimer at 4 p.m. on the campus of Hudson Valley Community College.
