Hudson Valley Community College women's soccer (6-3)  defeated Columbia-Greene Community College 4-0 with a balanced attack on Tuesday afternoon in Hudson, NY.

Vikings freshman Juliette Baker teamed up early in the game with Brooke Clough to put the Hudson Valley on the board. Baker took control of the ball, serving it from the right side and placed it right in front the goal, where Clough came up from the left side and headed the ball into the back of the net 12:42 minutes into the game.

Grace Cusack added to her team lead by scoring the Vikings second goal. After receiving a pass up the middle from Cassie Patrick, Cusack dribbled and took a shot past Columbia-Greene's keeper with a little over 15 minutes remaining in the half. The Vikings ended the first half with a 2-0 advantage.

In the second half, Baker went back to work early in the second half with Rebecca Fankhanel to increase the Vikings lead to 3-0. Baker took the ball up the left side of the goal, crossing a pass right in front of the goal, where Fankhanel caught the end and one-timed it into the net.

Cusack finished off the game with the final goal 12:13 minutes left in the game. Cusack managed to get a break through, and took off for the goal. Scoring in the upper right corner of the net, Cusack led the Vikings to their 4-0 victory over Columbia-Greene.

Nicki Filkins earned her first career win in goal as she managed to save six shots taken against the Vikings, leaving them with a 4-0 win.

The Vikings women's soccer team is back in action this Sunday, Oct. 6 as they welcome North Country to the Outdoor Athletic Complex on the campus of Hudson Valley Community College.
