The Hudson Valley Community College women's soccer team dropped a tough match on the road against nationally ranked Mohawk Valley 4-1 in Utica, NY on Wednesday afternoon.

With less than 10 minutes into the start of the game the Hawks jumped on the board first as Emily Berube and Jenna Thompson teamed up for the score. Mohawk Valley went on to add two more goals in the first half and took a 3-1 advantage into halftime.

The Vikings were the beneficiaries of a Mohawk Valley own goal in the first half to account for their lone goal of the day.

Mohawk Valley connected for one more goal in the second half, which was scored on a corner kick with six minutes remaining in the game.

Vikings keeper Bailey Dunn recorded a career-best 23 saves.

The women's soccer team is home this Saturday, Sept. 21 for the 2019 Homecoming Day and is scheduled to play Erie at 2 p.m. at the Outdoor Athletic Complex on the campus of Hudson Valley Community College.
