The Hudson Valley women's basketball was defeated by No. 10 ranked Mohawk Valley 98-50 on Sunday afternoon inside the McDonough Sports Complex on the campus of Hudson Valley Community College.

The Vikings started off with a brief lead on the nationally-ranked Hawks but were upended by an 18-0 run by Mohawk Valley to take a 27-10 lead into the start of the second quarter. The short-handed Hawks utilized a combination of full court press and a 1-3-1 half court zone to stymie the Vikings offense into 17 first half turnovers and 14 offensive rebounds, which resulted in easy second chance opportunities.

Leading the way for the Vikings was freshman Grace VanRoywho finished the game with a team-high 13 points and 11 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season. VanRoy shot 6-for-10 on 23 minutes of action. Emily Erickson also scored in double-figures as she finished with 12 points.

The Vikings are on the road tomorrow as they continue to face nationally-ranked programs in back-to-back days. Hudson Valley is traveling to No. 5 North Country for a 5 p.m. start in Saranac Lake, NY.
