Women's Basketball Rolls to 69-57 Win at Fulton-Montgomery

The Hudson Valley women's basketball went on the road and defeated Fulton-Montgomery 69-57 on Thursday evening in Johnstown, NY. 

The Vikings have now won three straight games after experiencing a season-long four game losing streak to close out the month of January. Hudson Valley's offense has been clicking and the team defense has been averaging 40.66 points per game. The team defense gave up an average of 77.25 points per game during their four-game losing streak.

Once again leading the charge for Hudson Valley was Emily Erickson who has now scored 20 or more points in four of the last five games after scoring 25 points against the Raiders. 

Alexandra Rifenburg hit three field goals from behind the arc and finished with 17 points, which included a team-leading eight points in the final quarter of the game. Kennedi Leak had a career night as she finished with a personal best 13 points, which included three, three-point field goals. 

As a team, Hudson Valley shot the ball very well from deep as they connected for 10 three-point field goals tonight. The Vikings have now surpassed double-digit field goals from behind the arc 10 times this season. 

The Vikings are back in action this Saturday, Feb. 9 when they welcome nationally-ranked North Country to the McDonough Sports Complex on the campus of Hudson Valley Community College. The game is scheduled to tip at 1 p.m.
