The Hudson Valley women's basketball team went on the road to face a tough Herkimer program and were defeated 85-54 on Saturday afternoon in Herkimer, NY.
Hudson Valley entered halftime trailing the Generals 45-32. In the second half, the Generals increased the defensive pressure and shot the ball well and pulled away from Hudson Valley to secure the convincing win.
Emily Erickson (Melrose/Tamarac), the Vikings leading scorer was held to under double-figures for the first time this season. Erickson scored a majority of her points early before running into foul trouble. Erickson finished the game with nine points.
Hudson Valley's leading scorers today were Grace VanRoy (Saugerties/Saugerties) and Anna VanRoy (Saugerties/Saugerties). The VanRoy's combined to score 23 points with Grace tallying 12 points and Anna finished with 11 points.
The Vikings return home on Wednesday, Nov. 13 for a Region 3 and conference matchup against Adirondack. The women are scheduled to tip-off at 5:30 p.m. in the McDonough Sports Complex on the campus of Hudson Valley Community College.
