Softball Grabs Four All-Region Accolades

The Hudson Valley Community College softball program had four student-athletes named to the NJCAA Region 3 All-Region team as announced by the Region 3 softball committee.
Moira Collins and Anna Siter were named to the All-Region First Team and Kayden Craft and Abby Taylor garnered All-Region Second Team recognition, as voted on by the Region 3 coaches.
Collins had a stellar season as the Vikings ace of the pitching staff. Prior to the Region 3B championship series, Collins appeared in 16 games with 14 starts and posted an 11-5 record with 132 strikeouts in 84.1 innings pitched. In the Region 3 title game against Corning, Collins tossed a complete game with seven strikeouts and allowed three runs on four hits. In the Region 3 sub-regional win over Monroe Community College on May 11, she tallied a career-high 16 strikeouts and closed out the season with 140 strikeouts, which ranks fourth on the program's single season strikeout list.
Siter closed out the year with a .404 batting average and tallied 36 hits and drove in a team-best 35 RBIs while only striking out five times in 89 at-bats. Anna accumulated eight extra-base hits with six doubles and a pair of triples over her 28 games played and scored 24 runs in 30 games played.
Craft had a tremendous freshman season with the Vikings as she finished the year with a .411 batting average and tallied a team-best 39 hits. Over the 95-at bats, Craft drove in 22 runs and scored a team-high 35 runs and added seven stolen bases with 48 total bases. Craft handled the right field assignment all season and recorded 23 putouts with only one error for a .964 fielding percentage.
Taylor finished near the top of the rankings with 32 hits, 34 RBIs and a .376 batting average this season. Taylor finished second on the team with a.671 slugging percentage and collected 13 extra-base hits, including four home runs, five doubles and four triples. Abby scored 30 runs with six stolen bases and accumulated a team-high 57 total bases in 26 games played. During the Region 3 title series, Taylor went 2-for-4 at the plate with four RBIs, including a solo home run in game two against Corning.
