The NJCAA Region 3 and the Mountain Valley Conference released its 2022 softball All-Region and All-Conference teams, as voted on by the head coaches. The program had five student-athletes receive the end of the year honors for the tremendous year they had this season.

Abigayle Campbell and Jody Rogers led the Vikings with All-Region First Team honors as well as First Team All-Conference recognition. Katie Mannis, Shealynn Peckowitz and Maryssa Sano all were named to the All-Conference team.

Campbell, a Delmar, NY native, was the leader on the field as the everyday catcher. She worked well with the diverse pitching staff, and was the Vikings big bat in the middle of the lineup. Campbell batted .429 with a .467 on-base percentage and slugged .771. In a team-high 105 at-bats, Campbell collected a team-bests with 45 hits, 19 doubles and 44 RBIs, which supported her quest for a First-Team All-Region selection.

Rogers, a Troy, NY native, was a consistent force for the Vikings in the outfield as well as at the plate. She finished the season with a .438 batting average, a .500 on-base percentage and slugged .644 in 27 games and 73 at-bats. She collected 32 hits, 25 runs, 10 doubles and 27 RBIs. Rogers committed only one error as the starting outfielder with 16 putouts with a fielding percentage of .944.

Katie Mannis, a Lansingburgh, NY native, played first base for the majority of the year and was one of four starters who finished the year batting .400 or better this season. Mannis recorded a .411 batting average with a.689 slugging percentage in 32 games played and 90 at-bats. She scored 26 runs, tallied 37 hits, 16 doubles and three home runs with 26 RBIs. Defensively, Mannis collected 66 putouts with 14 assists.

Peckowitz, a local Albany, NY native, had success as a pitcher and at the plate as she led the team in wins and batting this year. She posted a 9-4 record in the circle and stuck out a team-best 125 hitters, which ranked fourth in Region 3, in 73.2 innings pitched. She finished with a 3.80 ERA in 21 pitching appearances. At the plate, Shea posted a team-best .443 batting average with a .521 on-base percentage and a .607 slugging percentage. She scored 26 runs on 27 hits in 61 at-bats.

Sano, a Wynantskill native, handled the hot corner on defense and led the team's offense with six home runs while batting .367 on the year. Sano scored 26 runs with 36 hits on 98 at-bats and finished with 12 doubles with 28 RBIs.

Head coach Rick Tedisco swept the coach of the year honors as he was recognized by his peers as the Region 3 Coach of the Year and the Co-Coach of the Year in the Mountain Valley Conference. Tedisco took over the program during the COVID-19 pandemic and has led the program to a 21-win season, including a 17-game win streak, and a trip to the NJCAA Region 3B Championship series against a perennial power, Herkimer.
