Hudson Valley Community College softball team (0-4) faced a tough opponent Wednesday afternoon as they dropped both games of the doubleheader on the road at Onondaga.
Game One: Hudson Valley 0, Onondaga 8 (5 Innings)
The Vikings faced a tough pitcher in game one as Onondaga's Megan Brown kept the Vikings hitters off balance with eight strike outs and three walks. The three walks were earned by Ashley Pulcher (Stuyvesant/Ichabod Crane), Gina Patricelli (Troy/Lansingburgh) and Amanda Kenyon (Mechanicville/Mechanicville).
Game Two: Hudson Valley 0, Onondaga 10 (5 Innings)
The Vikings offense was unable figure out the Onondaga pitching as they managed to collect three hits in 16 at-bats in game two. Kenyon, Elizabeth Brooking (Rensselaer/Rensselaer) and Patricelli each collected a base hit for the Vikings and combined to go 3-for-6 at the plate.
Matti Hayes (Castleton/Columbia) started for Hudson Valley in the circle and pitched 1.2 innings and allowed eight runs on five hits. Brooking closed out the remaining 3.1 innings, allowing two runs on one hit with three walks.

The Vikings are scheduled to host Herkimer tomorrow, April 19 at Vikings Softball Field with game one expected to start at 3 p.m.
