Hudson Valley Community College men's soccer (6-9-2) once again needed extra time to decide a winner as the Vikings were defeated on the road at Broome 2-1 in overtime on Tuesday afternoon, the first round of the NJCAA Region 3 tournament.

The first time the Vikings played Broome this season they played all 110 minutes and finished with a scoreless tie on Sunday afternoon in Binghamton, NY.

Hudson Valley fought hard and took the early 1-0 advantage before Broome found the equalizer. Sophomore Kiernan Hanley scored the Vikings goal in the first half of the game.

Broome outshot the Vikings 20-5 and earned the 7-2 advantage on corner kicks. Nate Langlois gave up the two goals but also stopped a barrage of shots, accumulating 14 saves on the day.

The Vikings season, under first year head coach Devon Tomson comes to an end with the first-round defeat. Hudson Valley's postseason appearance is the program's third consecutive appearance dating back to the 2017 season.
