Men's Soccer Defeated at Home by North Country

North Country defeated the Vikings men's soccer team 4-3 on Oct. 6, 2019.

Hudson Valley Community College men's soccer (5-5-2) dropped a tough back-and-forth match 4-3 at home against North Country on Sunday afternoon on the campus of Hudson Valley Community College. 

The Vikings gave up two goal in the first half and entered halftime trailing 2-0. Noth Country's Alex Aguirre scored both goals for the Saints in the opening half. 

Marcello Fazio put the Vikings on the board early in the second half, scoring four minutes into the half. Fazio scored on a penalty kick as a result of a Saints foul in the box. Less than a minute later, North Country added one more and went up on Hudson Valley 3-1.

Hudson Valley fought back and scored two straight goals in a span of 15 minutes to tie the game at 3-3. Giovanni Audi scored on an assist from No. 12. Timothy Cavanna tied the game with his first collegiate goal of his career.

North Country scored the game-winning goal with three minutes remaining in the game to steal the win against the Vikings. 

The men's soccer team returns to the pitch on Tuesday, October 8 when they travel to take on Ulster at 4 p.m.
