Lacrosse Wins at Home Over Mohawk Valley

The Hudson Valley Community College Vikings picked up a big win at homewith a 12–10 victory over Mohawk Valley.
The Vikings came out firing, jumping to a 3–0 lead in the first quarter with unassisted goals from Romeyn Murray, Zachary Price, and Gabriel D'Angelo. Mohawk Valley responded late in the quarter with a pair of goals to cut the deficit to one. In the second quarter, Hudson Valley extended their lead with two more goals from Murray, giving him a first-half hat trick. However, Mohawk Valley wouldn't go away, rallying to tie the game 5–5 by the end of the third quarter.
Hudson Valley took control in the fourth. Goals from Theodore Kerber, Price, and Austin Fitzpatrick pushed the Vikings' lead to 11–5. Mohawk Valley made it close with five late goals, including two more from Hunt to complete his hat trick, but the Vikings held on down the stretch.
The Hudson Valley offense was led by Romeyn Murray, who notched a hat trick and added an assist in a strong all-around performance. Zachary Price also recorded three goals, continuing his consistent scoring presence. Gabriel D'Angelo and Theodore Kerber each contributed two goals, providing crucial depth on the attack. Austin Fitzpatrick stood out on both ends of the field, scoring twice while collecting five ground balls and forcing four turnovers. In goal, Nicholas Lagitch was a steady presence, making 15 saves on 25 shots to secure the win.
The Vikings play Mohawk again on Friday on the road at 5:30pm.
