Men's Lacrosse Falls in Region 3 Championship

Hudson Valley Community College men's lacrosse (9-5) saw their historic season come to an end as they were defeated 22-2 by Genesee in the Region 3B Championship game at Onondaga Community College on Saturday afternoon in Syracuse, NY. 

Trailing 1-0, sophomore attacker Austin Hinderliter (Ephratah/Johnstown) put the Vikings on the board to tie the game at 1-1 with 12:26 remaining in the first quarter. Genesee responded with a 21-0 run before the Vikings put their second goal on the board when Nicholas Malatesta (North Greenbush/Averill Park) found the back of the net with 28 seconds left in the game. 

The Vikings men's lacrosse program reached new heights this season under Coach Johnson as they qualified for the NJCAA Region 3 tournament for the third straight season as well as bring the program to Championship Saturday for the first time since 2012.
