Men's Lacrosse Ends Road Trip with Second Straight Win

Hudson Valley Community College men's lacrosse (2-0) finished their opening weekend road trip with its second straight win after defeating Potomac State 10-5 on Monday afternoon in Keyser, W.Va.

Sophomore Aaron Thorpe (Malta/Ballston Spa) continued his dominating play for the Vikings as he finished with four goals and two assists for a game-high six points. Lateke Murray (Albany/Albany) also finished with a game-high six points as he scored three goals and added three assists.

Hudson Valley trailed 3-1 early in the game and entered the halftime break tied 5-5. The Vikings defense stepped up in the second half and shutdown the Potomac offense in the final two quarters. Thorpe and Murray took control of the game in the second half as the Vikings outscored the Catamounts 5-0.

Darren Nagy (Saugerties/Saugerties) scored both of his goals in the second half and played a large role in leading the Vikings to victory.

Trevor Ham (Kingston/Kingston) started in goal for the Vikings and recorded seven saves, including four in the fourth quarter to earn his second win of the 2018 season.

The Vikings do not play again until Wednesday, Mar. 14 when they host Brookdale at 4 p.m. on the Vikings Turf Field.
